It’s Cool To Be Weird
This unusual music video, created by me… JC Gorritti, a.k.a. Jose Carlitos, satirizes online dating by portraying a series of weird characters judging and rejecting each other.
This video is not only an ode to eccentricity, but also a satire of the world of online dating and how “weirdness” can be used as an excuse for both acceptance and rejection.
It took me TWO YEARS to complete this project because, coming from the world of Film Sound, I needed time to organize my ideas, explore my creativity, and develop my own technique that would allow me to translate my visions onto the screen.
About the Song
The song “Qué Mae Más Raro” (What a weird dude) was originally written by the band Mostacho Xprmnt, and released by Music Dribble Entertainment, before finding its way into the hands of music producer Matt Giella (Copper Tony) who turned it into this Dofflin Mixed tune with a catchy synth line.
AN ODE TO WEIRDNESS
As a way of promoting my work as a filmmaker, I made this Reel using clips from the official music video of “It’s Cool To Be Weird”, and sound designed it in a way that represents my personal style.
